The role – Junior Journalist

We're looking for an ambitious and curious Junior Journalist to work on b2b news websites and work as part of the wider onsite content team. The role will require you to attend events (UK and overseas travel is required) and meetings to create content.

The role will be varied so having a flexible approach is key, you will be responsible for:

  • Regularly writing short news articles of between 150-300 words.

  • Create the content for the commercial partners

  • Produce content that supports the business events, this will include recorded interviews, insights, news articles etc.

  • You will work alongside the in-house marketing team to create valuable content

  • Develop a brand presence on social media (LinkedIn and Twitter) sharing website content as well as standalone social media content

  • Capturing and sharing images and video for a visual representation

  • Video content will be primarily created at the events, where you will present and interview

  • Adding contacts to the editorial database

  • You may be asked to chair sessions at the conferences

  • Work with colleagues in the sales department to share insight.

Your skills & experience

  • A 2:1 or 1st degree in Journalism or English degree (or similar)

  • Outstanding and confident communicator – written and spoken

  • Experience producing editorial style content such as student newsletters

  • Flexible approach, self motivated and a can-do attitude

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required

  • An interest in the economy and business

  • The ability to write quickly and accurately

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills

  • A confident and mature approach to work

  • Ability to manage the responsibility of independent working and working as part of a team
