Would you like to find out what it’s like to work in internal communications, gain experience by completing an industry inspired task, and receive mentoring from an industry expert?
The I Chose Internal Communication mentor scheme is a collaboration between the Institute of Internal Communications and the University of Lincoln Careers & Employability service. The scheme seeks to support students by helping you gain industry insights, practical experience, and access to professional networks.
Mentoring is a professional relationship in which a more experienced person (the mentor) shares their experience and knowledge with someone less experienced (the mentee). There are many ways mentoring can help you; these include:
· Developing your career potential
· Gaining insight into professionalism in the workplace
· Supporting with your skill development and recognition
· Improving your confidence
· Building your awareness of what employers are looking for
· Help to network and discover who and what is ‘out there’
The I Chose Internal Communications mentoring scheme will take place for seven weeks between 18th October 2021 and 10th December 2021.
Whilst we will aim to match all students with a mentor, this may not always be possible. If a mentor is not found for you, you will be contacted for further support.
Please complete this Expression of Interest form to apply.
Applications close at midnight on Sunday 3rd October.
