CyberFirst is a government programme run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC); part of GCHQ. Together with government and industry partners, CyberFirst are training the next generation of cyber security specialists.
What you’ll need
At least 2 years left of your degree, studying any subject.
You don’t need to be a coder, but you’ll need the drive to learn and the aptitude to protect our digital world.
You must be a British Citizen. One of your parents must be a British Citizen or must have nationality or citizenship from NCSC’s approved list of countries.
Key Facts
You don’t have to know coding: you’ll get foundation knowledge at our Academy.
You get £4,000 per university year, tax free.
It isn’t means tested: you can apply no matter your financial situation
You’ll do an eight week summer placement to build your knowledge and experience at our CyberFirst Academy or with government or industry.
You’ll receive £2,000 financial support for your summer placement, with discretionary contribution to your living costs too.
Your placements mean the opportunity to work with over 100 organisations like GCHQ, Lloyds, BT, Thales and Airbus.
We look to place you in degree-level cyber security job role in government or industry on graduation.
You can be studying or applying for any degree course at any UK university.
