Volunteer Opportunity – Content Creation for South and East Lincolnshire Climate Action Network (SELCAN) Website www.selcan.org.uk
About SELCAN:
SELCAN is an independent body which owns, monitors and reviews progress against the South and East Lincolnshire Climate Change Strategy. Our aim is to bring together private, public and community sectors across South and East Lincolnshire to tackle climate change. SELCAN acts as a forum for sharing ideas and best practice and encouraging collaboration across our communities on projects that lead to carbon reduction and adaptation to the impacts of climate change. We’re encouraging a shared ownership and responsibility of the challenges associated with climate change and we want to empower local stakeholders and communities to be part of the solution to the social, economic and environmental challenges posed by climate change.
What does the volunteer opportunity involve?
We would love to invite students to get involved with the network by helping us produce engaging and informative content for the SELCAN website to help and inspire businesses, communities, and residents across South and East Lincolnshire to tackle climate change and become more environmentally friendly.
We would love to have a variety of different media on our website such as:
· Videos
· Infographics
· Blog articles
· Interviews
Example topics include, but are not limited to:
· Energy/water saving tips
· An interview about a company’s renewable energy journey
· Sustainable travel in South and East Lincolnshire
· Promotion of local farmers markets and/or community growing projects
There is no maximum or minimum number of contributions required of a student to contribute to the website and we are happy for students to work individually on these pieces or collaboratively. We also invite students to put forward any ideas of their own.
This could be a great opportunity for students to gain some experience in content creation and boost their CVs so we encourage anyone interested to get in touch!
How to get involved:
Please register your interest by contacting: hdonnelly@lincoln.ac.uk

If you are interested in getting involved, please get in touch with us by Monday 13th November 2023) and following this we will schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting with you to discuss which topics you are most interested in covering and what type of media you prefer to create in so that we can assign topics. We will happily provide contacts and more details on each topic we would like to be covered to provide guidance and support to students involved.
We look forward to hearing from you.
